Business Finance Lead – Startup
– The Business Finance Lead will be responsible for end to end business finance responsibility with focus on Business Impact, Compliance, Process Excellence, Investor decks, and Finance Reporting & Insights.
– The role will be overseeing financial control, risk management and compliance. The person will be responsible for bringing financial discipline by making sure that the flow of money is tracked and recorded. Also, ensure proper systems and procedures are in place to support effective program implementation.
– The primary role of this person would be to ensure proper business finance support to the various business divisions.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Finance and accounting functions
• Understanding of the key financial and business performance levers and indicators in an IT Organization
• Financial Planning & Analysis
• Commercial Management, Pricing, Cost models
• Experience in Treasury
• Advanced technical skills with proficiency in presentations/reporting, financial systems and general ledger
• Preferably experience in helping the Organization for fundraising
• Providing strategic support to the business

Key Accountabilities
• Profitability
• Mitigating financial, legal and statutory risks
• Timely MIS reporting to leadership team and investors
• Internal auditing and year end external audits
• Monthly and yearly reporting’s to government departments
• Major R&R of this role are:
1. Prepare financial forecasts, detailed budget plans and risk analyses with the CEO/Founders
2. Close tracking and monitoring of operational and business performance, including revenues, expenses and business overheads
3. Providing timely and meaningful MIS on financial results, key financial metrics to leadership team and investors
4. Ensuring statutory compliance for Company Law, Direct & Indirect Taxes, Payroll etc.
5. Managing the Accounts Payable function to ensure that commitments to vendors and partners are adhered to
6. Managing the Accounts Receivable & revenue tracking functions, including credit period management, collection of outstanding dues, customer service suspension due to uncleared invoices, etc. to ensure that company cash flow is managed efficiently
7. Supervising working capital management, internal audit planning & administration, monitoring cash flows, managing liquidity & treasury and budget controls
8. Prepare financial reports to help founders in further fund raising exercise
Experience & Skills
· 5 to 10 years of experience in Finance and accounting functions
· Experience in leading the function for at least 3 years
· Experience in the IT Industry – preferably in a Product Company
Requirements:
– Chartered Accountant (Rank holder) with 4-7 years of relevant work experience followed by MBA from a Tier 1 college
– Strong presentation skills required to present financial results to management and the ability to influence others
– Ability to Lead the team through Changes and drive Changes
– Ability to Influence and Impact stakeholders and Strong Cross Group Collaboration
Must have worked with a startup for at least 2 years in Business finance
