The ServiceNow Platform Engineer has the opportunity to contribute technical expertise, influence and solutions for the ServiceNow platform. This includes engaging to deliver new functionality and innovative solutions, to support the long term vision.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
Engage with our Lilly ServiceNow team, cross functional IT partners, and vendors to enhance the ServiceNow capabilities and deliver new functionality.
This is achieved through:

  • Technical proficiency of the ServiceNow platform, while working closely with the Platform Architect, Technical Leads, vendors and cross-functional IT teams
  • Effective impact analysis of the local and/or global changes while ensuring consistency and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures for architecture, data, and an extensive concentration on integrations
  • Provides and ensures effective impact analysis of platform changes, with consistency and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures for architecture, data, integrations and processes, as well as Code Review and promotion
  • Experience with leading all technical aspects of project delivery and solution delivery, which include Configuration, Workflow Configuration, UI Configuration, Reporting, and Integration components (SSO, LDAP, etc)
  • Must have experience installing, implementing, or maintaining several of the following: LDAP/Active Directory, SSO (e.g. SAML, SiteMinder), Email Infrastructure, Web Services (consuming or providing) (SOAP, REST), Data Extraction Technologies (e.g. JDBC, ODBC), Network infrastructure and Cloud Management Platforms such as AWS and VMware
  • Effective communication and awareness of ever-changing business needs, technical changes and vendor/supplier relationships and services
  • Strong problem solving skills, with a commitment to establish relationships, work effectively with others, ensure controls and monitor the progress
  • Strong verbal and written communications, along with the ability to articulate the ideas and recommendations to management, architects and cross-functional teams
  • Functional knowledge of IT infrastructure
  • Applied knowledge of ITIL v3

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a technical equivalent
  • 5+ years of ServiceNow experience for the apps/components and System Admin
  • 3+ years IT experience for the software development, spanning the entire lifecycle from project initiation to deployment, support, and retirement
  • Database skills to understand common databases and how to utilize this information to advance ServiceNow capabilities
  • Data Integration experience and awareness of additional technologies to facilitate the integration needs with other platforms, cloud computing, etc.
  • Configuration Management skills to bridge the concepts and readiness between the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and ServiceNow capabilities
  • Fluent in English for verbal and written communications, is essential
  • Proven team player and the ability to work in a dynamic environment, where needs and priorities can change, with compressed deadlines
