Position Description:
The Global Quality Information and Data Solutions (IDS) team delivers and maintains applications that support the Global Quality Assurance and Lab organizations at Lilly. This team is part of the broader Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) IDS organization that continues to transform as we look to the digital plant of the future and support manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts maximizing the use of technology and analytics. In particular, as Lilly’s cloud presence increases, there is a need to connect Lilly on-premise solutions with cloud platforms, such as Veeva, to deliver key capabilities to our business partners.
The Global Quality IDS team works in partnership with the Global Quality business central and site representatives to define business needs and provide solutions for Manufacturing Quality. This team is responsible for the support and solution delivery of IT tools that support the Global Quality business application portfolio. The Global Quality business organization is on a transformation path to modernize its business applications by introducing automation/AI, digital technologies, and information management capabilities to be more productive as demand for products grow. The solutions developed by this team connect quality systems and cloud solutions/platforms to deliver value across the organization.
A key role in the Global Quality Assurance organization is the Full Stack Lead Web Developer position. The Lead Developer will have primary responsibility for leading a team of contract resources to enhance and deliver custom developed solutions that integrate on-premise and cloud Global Quality assets to deliver business capabilities and value. This role will report to the IDS Manager – Global Quality.

The Lead Developer will have primary responsibility for leading a team of contract resources to enhance and deliver custom developed solutions that integrate on-premise and cloud Global Quality assets to deliver business capabilities and value. This role will report to the IDS Manager – Global Quality.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Partner with Business Process Architects, third party solution delivery providers, and Solution Architects to deliver and enhance custom developed solutions on the ‘modern stack’.
- Provide technical leadership over development resources. This includes establishing industry best-practices in code/configuration management within the development team, making decisions on appropriate technical components for integration, and designing sustainable solutions through proper architecture.
- Managing technical decomposition of user stories and features into deliverables/tasks for the development team to execute during sprints.
- Analyze and assess the impact of system changes.
- Designs and develops user interfaces to Quality applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle determining design methodologies and tool sets completing programming using languages and software products designing and conducting tests
- Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
- Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities contributing to team meetings troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Supports users by developing required documentation and user-guides
- Solutions developed should adhere to data integrity principles
- Develop Enterprise solutions with web technologies.
- Design client-side and server-side architecture, build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design, develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications through integrations.
- Should be able to define the directions and provide guidance to the team in terms of designing, developing and building applications.
- Ensure compliance to Lilly privacy and security standards and Quality rules.
- Appropriately managing the validated state of GMP solutions.
- Partnering with software quality assurance testing resources and support personnel to diagnose and correct system bugs.
- Be an active learner. Stay abreast of tools and technologies to influence IT strategy so that it provides best usage opportunities for business.
Basic Requirements:
- At least 5-8 years of work experience in IT, solution delivery, and operations.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in architecting, designing, developing and delivering multiple projects using ‘modern stack’ technologies such as Angular, NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript,(One or more)
- Develop front end website architecture and design user interactions on web pages integrating with back-end.
- In-depth understanding of the web development process and technologies including source management (GitHub) and build processes
- Experience in continuous integration/continuous delivery(CI/CD) pipelines and modern deployment technologies, such as Jenkins, OpenShift
- Proficient in integrating with APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.), perform unit testing and code-reviews by following coding practices efficiently.
- Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting studying and establishing connectivity with network systems and servers.
- Proficient in SQL & PL/SQL
- Should be able to create prototypes to demonstrate to the required stakeholders to better visualise the proposed solution.
- Familiar with AWS or Azure or similar technologies
- Ability to work with business owners to define key business requirements and convert to technical and data specifications.
- Experience working in regulated environments and complying with internal systems quality policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to establish trusting relationships with business partners and evolve to become the ‘Go-To’ person for the custom solutions provided.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, and drive integration points across cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and oral communication with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, self-mgmt, collaboration, project mgmt, team player with problem solving skills.
- Should have the appetite to learn, grow and stay abreast on top of tools and technologies, integrate with global teams with diversity of culture for a longer term engagement.

Additional Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in working in Scrum – agile methodologies would be preferred.
- Experience with Service Now toolset for incident, problem, and change management
- Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer science, information technology, or management information systems.
Other Information:
Travel to US or other Lilly entities may be required.
After hours support due to manufacturing 24/7 operations may be required
