BUSINESS UNIT: Corporate Services Business Analysts
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Serves as liaison between the global CFO Group and global Rackspace Technical Teams. Gathers and documents business process, system and functional requirements of a product. Creates detailed use cases, user stories, and test scenarios. Leads User Acceptance Testing and approvals. May play an active role in training of business end users. May supervise junior level Financial System Analysts.
Level V – Financial Systems Analyst, Senior
. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
o Expert knowledge of business operations to create requirements for development/process change.
o Expert business analysis skills, and process improvement skills.
o Ability to work within standardized project management framework.
o Expert time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills.
o Responsible for meeting timelines and objectives on specified projects or tasks.
o Gathers and documents functional, system, and data requirements within the FST documentation framework.
o Partner with end users and management to lead the creation of detailed process diagrams and business requirement documents using the FST documentation framework.
o Partner with end users, management and IT to incorporate business requirements and business process knowledge to create detailed user stories, and test scenarios.
o Lead the creation and maintaining FAQ’s and work instruction documents using the FST documentation framework.
o Actively partner with CFO teams and management to define training needs of business end users as it relates to systems and processes.
o Lead project meetings and guide groups to meet timelines and objectives.
o Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.
o Ability to communicate technical information and ideas both verbally and written so others will understand.
o Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
o Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.
o Manages system and process improvement activities from conception to actualization.

. JOB COMPLEXITY:
o Partner with product owners and leaders for the financial applications in use by CFO Group and tailor our level of service based on their existing need and sophistication.
o Serves as liaison between the CFO Group and Rackspace Technical Teams.
o Partner with business end users and management to understand business processes.
o Analyzes results of testing to ensure solution matches the documented business need.
o Coordinates/Participates in User Acceptance Testing and ensures test cases are completely tested and signed off on by appropriate project team members.
o Utilize understanding of technology, business processes, accounting/finance, and financial systems to accomplish improvement goals.
o Continuously seek knowledge of leading practices as it pertains to financial systems
o Leads projects of all s from beginning to end, as assigned.
o Serves as a product owner for the financial applications in use by CFO Group
o May be responsible for maintaining systems, metadata, reporting and taxonomies owned by CFO Group
o Manages system conversions, implementations, business process design, and other special projects for the CFO Group, as assigned.
o May serve as mentor to other analysts.
o May supervise junior level analysts, interns, or contractors.
. SUPERVISION:
o Operates under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent action.
. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
o Bachelor’s degree in business preferred or 15 years of business analysis experience required.
o Advanced accounting knowledge. Desired understanding of General Ledger, Financial Statements, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax practices.
o Ability to analyze financial data and detect errors or potential problems.
o Advanced working knowledge of Oracle accounting and tax software or related technology is desirable.
o Process Improvement experience required.
o Demonstrated ability to consistently provide FANATICAL support.
. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
o General office environment.
o High levels of stress may occur at times.
o May require long periods of sitting and viewing of a computer monitor.
. TRAVEL:
o Domestic and international travel may be required up to 10%.
