Managed Accounts Middle Office
The Company
J.P.Morgan Asset Management is one of the largest asset and wealth managers in the world, with assets under management of $2.1 trillion (as of 30 Sep 2018). J.P. Morgan’s investment professionals are located around the world, providing strategies that span the full spectrum of asset classes.
The Business
JP Morgan provides its investment services via several distribution channels, including acting as investment adviser for SMA Programs offered through financial intermediaries. Overseeing client assets of $18 billion, the Managed Accounts Group manages the relationships with these financial intermediaries and designs investment strategies for clients in their Programs.
The Team
The Middle Office Operations Group supports this business, performing these primary functions: (a) delivering model portfolios to sponsoring intermediaries for non-discretionary strategies, (b) implementing portfolio trades for discretionary strategies, (c) ensuring the accuracy of investment data used within the portfolio implementation applications, and (d) overseeing the broader Operations team in their support of the Managed Accounts Group’s strategies and portfolios. While the Middle Office Operations Group resides within the Operations organization, it is tightly integrated with the Front Office Portfolio Managers and Product Specialists.
JP Morgan’s Global Service Centers (GSCs) are strategically positioned in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to support the firm’s operations regionally and globally. Our employees in these GSCs provide comprehensive strategic support across technology and business operations to all of JP Morgan’s lines of business and corporate functions. They are integrated within our businesses, and are a critical part of our operations.
The Role
The incumbent is responsible for providing ongoing operational support to The Business by performing such tasks as:
·Overseeing the data environment and system readiness of Middle Office systems
·Ensuring data integrity of these systems by performing ongoing data validation tests
·Opening new accounts in the systems
·Reconciling positions, transactions, and indicative data across systems
·Entering clients’ portfolio requests into a workflow tool
·Running, preparing, and distributing MIS Reports of business and operational data
·Maintaining client and security static data within the systems
·Maintaining user configurations and entitlements within the systems
·Partnering with the Front Office, Operations, and Technology teams to resolve issues
·Managing deliverables while servicing all ad hoc queries and requests.
The role requires attention to detail, an awareness of the risks involved and an ability to work under pressure and strict adherence to deadlines.
The Candidate
Successful candidates will have these skills and qualifications:
·Strong academic background with a minimum of 05-08 years relevant industry experience
·Excellent interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills
·Fluent in English, both written and oral
·Excellent analytical, problem solving, and trouble-shooting skills
·Ability to produce and interpret results from internal clients, especially the ability to foresee issues and prevent their occurrence
·Excellent time management skills
·Excellent attention to detail
·Ability to work independently and to proactively seek guidance from others when needed
·Strong team player and ability to build strong relationships globally
·Adaptable to a changing environment
·Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives effectively and efficiently
