Role: VDI & VM WARE Expert
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Experience with infrastructure components of VMware Horizon View 7.x
and vSphere 6.x
Maintain the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Environment. Configure,
maintain, and document the virtual server infrastructure including the
physical hyper converged hardware.
Deploy new virtual servers, maintain templates, and perform updates
when necessary.
Maintenance of gold images and desktop pools, management of
entitlements, application management and migration of user data
Monitor compute resources; maintain resource pools and user
entitlements, and applicable policies. Update and deploy VDI desktop
images. Diagnose and troubleshoot end user resource and connection
issues, hardware and software problems.
Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools
necessary for high levels of availability and performance of the VMware
View system. Applying platform and VMware upgrades and updates to
production and non-production components.
Engaging in capacity plan exercises to ensure adequate system
resources.
Collaborating with technical teams and VMware to ensure proactive
support.
Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity. Follows
vendor and VMware best practices for hardware and software
configuration.
