Job Description :
This role acts as a bridge between individual finance business partner teams, who directly report on the costs of the area they are supporting, and the management teams for the Bank. This requires the development of both in depth knowledge of the BX cost base, workforce and projects run within the bank as well as strong relationship management and communication skills. Key outputs are a detailed and well-grounded cost plan, stress test and transfer process that is available for both those managing costs as well as the business and legal entities who are charged for the services provided
What will you be doing

  • Oversee the production of cost financial plans and stress testing results. This should be developed with a full understanding of both how costs are booked (managed view) as well as how these are then allocated to businesses (i.e. BI and BUK and their business units) and legal entities (e.g. BB Plc, US IHC, BBUK Plc etc)
  • Check allocation output and provide explanations of key drivers to business and legal entities receiving these charges
  • Develop strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including Finance, Project Management Office and Workforce teams within the Cost FTC, as well as the business finance teams and legal entity controllers receiving BX allocations
  • Design and document processes and controls for BX the processes in the Planning & Stress Testing CoE, as well as produce and present financial output to facilitate review and obtaining sign-off
  • Review and challenge of In-Business controls and financial output in those instances where the process requires this and/or where the BX CFO is the Accountable Executive (AE

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified accountant, relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. This should include significant experience within Excel as a key analytical tool
  • Data basing skills (Hyperion being the main data base environment used in this role)
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills, both verbal and written (often using PowerPoint or equivalent)
  • Ability to work without supervision for long periods of time
  • Ability to develop and support reporting processes
  • Ability to execute quickly and effectively – strong influencing skills and ability to get things done in a complex matrix organisational structure
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize to deliver and manage stakeholder expectations
  • A team player

Skills that will help you in the role

  • Experience in Financial Control, or equivalent area (such as cost allocation and billing), that will provide useful background on the interpretation of BX cost allocations to Legal Entities
  • Experience with SAP GL for finance data
  • Appreciation of Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting requirements
