Step 2: In the exam notification tab, click on the apply online link and you will be directed to Part 1 of the registration process.

Step 3: Fill in the basic details required and finish the registration following which you will receive a confirmation message on the registered mobile number and email ID.

Step 4: Log in with the basic registration details to finish Part 2 of the registration process.

Step 5: Upload the required documents in the given format.

UPSC 2024 Selection Process

The selection process for the UPSC 2024 CSE is divided into three stages: Preliminary, Mains, and Interview.

Prelims– It is qualifying in nature and tests the candidates on their general awareness and mental aptitude. It is conducted in  2 shifts on the same day. The first paper is of GS and the second is called CSAT.

Mains– It is a 5-day long exam with 9 papers, all subjective in nature. It is a very lengthy and grueling part of the selection process. The marks scored by the candidates in this stage are the biggest factor in determining the merit list.

Interview– also known as the personality test is the most talked about portion of the selection process. It is the final stage of the selection journey and tests the candidates on multiple levels ranging from basic common sense to presence of mind.

UPSC 2024 Exam Pattern

The Prelims stage of the UPSC 2024 Exam consists of 2 papers, GS and CSAT. The table below will give a more clear idea regarding the UPSC 2024 Prelims exam.

• The questions in both the papers will be of objective type and will also carry a 1/3rd negative marking condition.

The UPSC 2024 CSE Mains Exam consists of 9 Papers and will be conducted over a span of 5 days. Out of these 9, two papers will be of qualifying nature i.e. Compulsory Indian Language and English. Included in these 9 are two papers of the Optional Subject which the candidates will be asked to select while filling their online application for UPSC 2024.

• Paper A and Paper B are of qualifying Nature.
• All the papers will be of subjective type and will be conducted in pen-paper mode.
• Each paper will be allotted a 3-hour time limit.
