Eaton is currently seeking a Global Financial Accounting Analyst to join our team. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Beachwood, OH.
Position Overview:
In this role you will assist in the monthly close process and provide management with timely and accurate financial data that aids in the decision-making process. You will also analyze and correct financial data through use of various accounting systems. You will have broad exposure to the International Treasury Accounting team.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform corporate ledger accounting; prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure compliance, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Perform analysis/reconciliations of balance sheet and miscellaneous P&L on a monthly basis, and review and resolve variances. Provide feedback and guidance to ledger owners based on findings.
  • Assist in the correct recording of intercompany assets/liabilities and balancing of accounts with intercompany trading partners. Work effectively with intercompany trading partners to ensure invoices are issued and recorded correctly.
  • Understand GAAP and SOX and internal policies and how they affect the ledger.
  • Participate in financial accounting projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring proper US GAAP accounting
  • Partner with various corporate and operational cross-functional teams for the purpose of supplying or explaining data, providing advice on accounting matters or driving process improvements.
  • Support audit requests (both internal and external), Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing.
  • Assist with second level balance sheet reviews as needed.
  • Assist with analysis of foreign exchange impacts.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business and/or Finance from accredited institution
  • Minimum one (1) year of accounting and/or finance experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of accounting and/or finance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient software and system skills (Oracle, SAP, HFM, Microsoft Office)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in a global environment
