JOB SCOPE:

  • The Financial Markets Technology team in Standard Chartered Bangalore is responsible for building next generation FinTech software to solve the business problems. The successful candidate would work on any of the domains in the financial markets to build the next generation applications and tools which would help business. FM is looking for a senior developer in Java backend technology with microservices to fill various roles.
  • As a Senior developer, you’ll be responsible for delivering quality software to tight timelines. Based in Bangalore and working in a dynamic global team with other technologists, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders across multiple locations. As a senior developer you will be held accountable for the design decisions and interactions with the Architecture team to take forward the standard architecture and design decisions

Key Attributes:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design – preferable java full stack
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Own development of your services end-to-end
  • Provide technical direction to engineers, even beyond your own team
  • Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the business platform while keeping an extremely high bar customer trust, performance, and availability.
  • experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
  • Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
  • Experience working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
  • Key technology Skills to be used in the project: Java , Spring boot, scalable microservices
  • Exposure to any of the container frameworks like Kubernetes/Docker/openshift,/helm
  • Exposure to dev ops tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, git, bitbucket, maven, gradle, ansible,
  • Database exposure like SQL, Mongo, Cassandra
  • Familiarity with messaging frameworks like JMS/Kafka/MQ
  • Ability to design and build smart, scalable solutions to tight deadlines
  • Experience working in an agile development environment

  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
