Job Description
** Team Leads/ Technical leads/Checkers with 6-9 years experience **
JOB SUMMARY:
Administer and coordinate the development of Aerospace technical publications, related data and technical services support. The project is about the creation and revision of the maintenance documentation in S1000D & iSpec2200 standard. The manuals include but not limited to:

  • Component Maintenance Manuals
  • Line Maintenance Manuals
  • Illustrated Parts Catalogues
  • Fault Isolation Manuals
  • Service Bulletins
  • Engine Service Manual (CIR)

The inputs will be Engineering Drawings, Bill of materials (BOMs), Production operation sheets, Technical mark-ups from Engineering, Factory Modification Sheets (FMS), Change Requests, SIL, SBs, TRs, repair procedure and customer specific documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Coordinate Technical Publications and Document Control groups consistent with the goals and objectives of the department. Ensuring smooth execution of the projects to meet the organizational goals while evaluating periodically the constraints of time and resources. Responsible for developing the work execution methodology and development of standard work instructions. Research and review engineering design drawings, engineering orders, and related technical data defining component/assembly modifications and determine their effect on technical manuals and publications such as EMM, CIR, IPC, AMM, CMM etc. This include:

  • Studying the supplied inputs
  • Requesting additional information if required, from engineering (Query management).
  • Scheduling planning , task allocation & progress tracking
  • Quality review of the Documents for formatting correctness presentation
  • Quality review of the Documents for Technical correctness and language checks
  • Release Audits of the deliverables to make sure that the product followed all the process defined in the plan

Preparing checklists as per the project requirements to validate and verify the quality documents. Ensure that all quality metrics are within the agreed parameters. Errors discussion, mentoring, record new learnings, prepare skill gap analysis. Preparation of training modules and imparting the training to the new team members. Key focus on customer concerns, escalations, productivity improvement, lean techniques and organization objectives. Coordinate, in a professional manner, with customer and other outside agencies to promote and support the company’s business interests. Driving new ideas to enhance productivity and generate 3 to 5 % productivity gains YoY Work closely with program manager and onsite/offshore project manager with respect to schedule management, project updates metrics and to standardize process, exchange new learnings, knowledge sharing. Conducting regular team meetings for project monitoring and control. Maintain involvement in day to day Cyeint operations to ensure that the highest level of technical support is maintained at all times. Provide employee hour estimates and accountability for projects undertaken by the Technical Publications Department. Set department objectives, assign projects and evaluate group(s) work for content and conformity with customer and Cyient requirements.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Equivalent and related experience may be substituted. Minimum five years technical publications experience involving aircraft/aeroengine/systems related assignments as a Technical Author, Technical Illustrator or Editor. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of technical publications development practices, business environment, the S1000D & iSPec2200 standards and aircraft technical manuals such as MM, IPC, etc. Must have excellent oral, written and organizational skills which are easily applied to administration and supervision. Must have the ability to supervise, organize and motivate team. Well versed with S1000D Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Arbortext, Isodraw, Catia, Visualizations Mockup, JT2GO.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • AME, Bachelor’s in Aeronauticla/Mechanical Engineering
