Requirements and Responsibilities
· Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
· Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
· Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
· Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
· Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
· Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
· Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
· Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to System Administrators and management support
· Coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
· Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and/or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and/or AWS Solutions Architect Associate recommended
· Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux and/or Windows based environments.
· Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (i.e. IIS, Tomcat, Apache, NGINX, etc.)
· Experience with virtualization and containerization (i.e. VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, RHEV, and Nutanix AHV)
· Advanced experience with monitoring systems (Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti, etc)
· Advanced experience with automation software (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
· Advanced scripting skills (i.e. Windows PowerShell, bash shell, Perl, Ruby, Python)
· Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
· Cloud experience, preferably in AWS or Azure is a plus
· BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or a related subject
