DESCRIPTION

We are responsible for building the systems that automate and orchestrate the services and financial transactions that supports Amazon customers and vendors worldwide. We build, operate, and scale systems that are responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars in transactions, and are central to the success of Amazon and its partners.
We’re looking for a proven Support Engineer with a deep focus on customers (internal and external), able to write SOPs and work closely with the software development teams to setup support models and execute them as part of the operations procedure and SLA. Someone who played DevOPS role is a big plus.
Roles and responsibilities :
In this role, you will become intimate with the current systems, solutions and what SOPs are being used to handle the operational excellence, work with Software developments to onboard and sustain the front-line support, ability to provide automation ideas and also where possible automate the manual SOPs. Provide support on operational issues, define the processes / mechanisms for providing support, identify and automate manual steps to improve the overall productivity and your ability to develop tools / scripts that will help automate the manual operational excellence steps is a big plus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. 2+ years of development or technical support experience
. Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
. Experience in Unix
. Experience scripting in modern program languages
. Understanding of AWS, Python and Scripting languages
. Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl
. Familiarity with database concepts (e.g., Redshift, DynamoDB or Postgres)
. Well rounded experience with monitoring systems, dashboards
. Strong understanding of support processes – SLA, handling tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics.
. Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy
. Experience in mentoring other Engineers
. Excellent verbal and written Communication skills
. Exhibit strong team oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of people and roles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. AWS Certified Professional
. Have worked on highly concurrent, high throughput systems with knowledge of distributed systems
. Experience with mission critical, 24×7 systems
. Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
. Curiosity to dig several layers deep into metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers, metrics and big picture view.
