Candidates applying for the SSC CGL must be a,
- Citizen of either India or Nepal or Bhutan.
- If a candidate is a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan shall have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India in favor of him/her.
- Tibetan refugees who came over to India, before January 1962
- Candidate of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2023: Application Fees
Candidates have to submit the application fees during the online registration process to complete the application form.
- Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only).
- Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), ESM eligible for reservation, and Persons with disability (PWD) are exempted from payment of the fee.
- Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
