Global Business Services (GBS) is ABB’s shared services organization which delivers operational and expert services in Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Legal, Global Travel Services and external Customer Contact Centers. With employees based in five main hubs and front offices, GBS provides mainly Business services to ABB teams across the globe as well as supports with external customer inquiries. This is a SSAS Specialist role, reporting to the Planning & Controlling Manager Center of Excellence of Excellence (CoE) in the Global Business Services which is in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible to engineer, develop and maintain high quality Business Intelligence solution on a Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) platform supporting various reporting applications.Your responsibilities
- Designing and supporting the setting up of data and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) architecture on Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) platform.
- Developing, documenting, and implementing source-to-target mapping for ETL.
- Implementing and testing ETL process from various sources on the MS BI platform.
- Maintaining ETL workflow and ensuring quality and robustness of the workflow.
- Providing technical support for new and existing applications.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining BI reporting and analytic dashboards using Power BI.
- Participating in business process analysis and requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders.
- Assessing and estimating project tasks and providing accurate status of assigned projects.
- Working closely in an agile team environment with other developers, project managers and business analysts.
Your background
- Degree in Analytics, Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years Business Intelligence experience, of which 3+ years in developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards using Power BI and SSAS.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders
- Strong with SSAS tabular Model (creating, developing, and deploying cube). Ability to develop tabular models that are compatible with warehouse standards.
- Proficiency in writing DAX queries in SSAS Tabular, ability to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in SSAS tabular expertise in using advance level calculation.
- Connecting to various data sources, importing data, and transforming data for business intelligence.
- Background in data mining or data warehouse design will be beneficial.
- Good understanding of finance processes and data structure, experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and defining technical specifications would be added advantage.
- Agile experience is a plus.
