Senior Specialist, Talent Neuron
About this Role
The job role is for a Snr. Research Specialist position in the Gartner TalentNeuron team. A part of the HR Research and Advisory practice, TalentNeuron is Gartner’s flagship labor market insights product. A dedicated team of 200 Gartner associates from different groups (Research, Advisory, Data, Product Management and Tech) supports this product from 5 locations i.e., Bangalore, Chennai, London, Quebec City and Washington DC. You’ll work with the world’s largest collection of job descriptions (4 billion and growing) and talent profile supply data to evaluate and predict skills availability, competitive intensity, hiring difficulty and other constructs. You’ll be the first to know when a new skill or technology is emerging, which companies are hiring for it, where it is located, and what it pays. This role enables you to explore your intellectual curiosity in a collaborative, team-based environment. You’ll be offered robust training, support and coaching to achieve career success and advance within the Research organization.
What You’ll Do

  • Work with large volumes of job descriptions, personal profiles, government population figures, and university graduation records to generate global labor market insights. Leverage research and data models to solve global HR problems
  • Communicate data models and analysis to internal stakeholders and Fortune 500 clients in a clear and effective manner, with the help of creative visualization
  • Create and thrive in an environment of teamwork, collaboration, open communication, creative thinking, and workplace integrity
  • Represent the TalentNeuron Research team in key checkpoints with Product, Advisory and Tech teams based in United States (Washington, DC area), United Kingdom (London) and Canada (Quebec City) in addition to Bangalore and Chennai
  • Participate in research scoping discussions with advisors, present research findings to senior Gartner managers and member companies
  • Stay abreast of key labor market trends (Location analysis, Workforce Planning, Competitor Analysis, Strategic Sourcing, Fresh Talent/University Analysis, Diversity Analysis, Employer Value Proposition) as it relates to the Human Resource function. Over a period, develop expertise on one or two terrains.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Product, Advisory, Tech leaders to assess and storyboard current and future and use cases
  • Partner with team lead to create research scope documents work with the team to create client-ready custom research reports

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of exp. OR master’s degree with 5+ exp. from reputed institutes or working in a Research/Consulting Organization.
  • Strong critical reasoning and data interpretation skills. Knowledge of data processing and visualization tools would be a plus.
  • Ability to learn new concepts and approaches quickly and learn independently from web tutorials, books, and discussion forums
  • A strategic mindset to bring out the ‘so what’ of the data. An ability to apply logical, structured frameworks to complex problems
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
