Do you want to be instrumental in the success of some of Amazon’s strategic and highly impactful projects Amazon’s Finance Operations Payroll team is looking for a seasoned Senior Project Analyst (SPA) as an individual contributor, whose experience illustrates a clear ability to drive business decisions based on data analytics, manage stakeholder engagements, and drive projects to meet medium and long-term business needs.
As a SPA you will provide operational and testing support to Payroll tools and systems. Establish operational support services that can consist of bridging the gap between the global programs, technology and teams performing the actual operations within the Support Centers (SC’s). Testing support can cover both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Performance Verification Testing (PVT). Projects will require SPA to deep dive into requirements, outline the testing approach, coordinate the logistics of testing and facilitate its execution.
The Program Delivery function is within the Payroll team (Finance Operations) and as such this position will work with Leadership in Payroll Operations as well as Vendor Management (VM) and Operational Excellence (OE) Program Management (PM)functions within Payroll to build a program that will support managing regional performance dashboards, stakeholder engagement, financial monitoring and readiness, change request management, data management, vendor summary. In addition, at the core, SPA will support management of the global project delivery for high impact Payroll projects in partnership with the relevant stakeholders.
The SPA’s incumbent in program delivery is designing and deploying the right processes & controls from the beginning of the project.
Operational Support Responsibilities:
· Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and key partners for the program.
· Lead projects for Payroll of various scale and complexity to enhance operational efficiency e.g. transformation projects, integration projects, or partner led Payroll projects.
· Work along with Payroll Operations, vendors, and internal teams to develop and constantly evolve standard dashboard formats and publish them to the stakeholders for discussions and reviews on an ongoing basis.
· Subject Matter Expert for customers, team, and product partners. POC for leadership and stakeholders
· Clearly and succinctly articulate project performance and any remediation plans to an executive level
· Provides training and guidance on processes and systems to customers, team members, and managers.
· Creates documentation and consistently taking measures to improve effectiveness of systems & tools
· Design, develop, and execute the test plans by covering all aspects of Quality assurance, functional and, regression testing.
Project & Testing Support Responsibilities:
· Leads complex medium to large scale testing projects for Payroll Systems
· Lead internal projects to either create, improve, or maintain service support standards
· Support multiple projects; mange project tracker and make recommendations to leaders regarding project priorities, complexity, and resourcing
· Handles issues, identifies gaps and provides root cause analysis and recommendations
· Implement and maintain an engagement model with our customers/stakeholders and our internal leaders
· Assists with development of and execution of vision and goals for the team
Basic Qualifications :
Basic Qualification
· Ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience with minimum 5 years in project management
· UAT, PVT experience and knowledge of different testing phases
· Experience identifying and resolving issues independently, would describe self as a troubleshooter
· Well-honed analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics including return on investment.
· Experience developing, improving and implementing processes in large-scale, complex environments.
· Consistent delivery on commitments – great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail
· Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and interest in supporting a global team.
· Ability to handle responsibilities independently, while exercising good judgment in problem solving and keeping team members adequately informed.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Preferred Qualifications :
Preferred Qualification
· Systems support experience, previous participation in system testing and system implementation activities a plus
· Knowledge of Payroll, PeopleSoft or other ERP system experience – HR, digital document management, or timekeeping system background is a plus
· Certification in PMP or Six Sigma
· MBA desirable, but not necessary
