Position Summary: The Functional Safety Engineer will be part of a team responsible for all activities of ISO 26262 Safety-Lifecycle required in developing high end, embedded automotive infotainment systems. Furthermore the position will support RFI/RFQ for FUSA requirement analysis and will handle compliance requirements with regard to FUSA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Member of Project Core Team
  • Support in creation of functional and technical safety requirements and concepts
  • Support and owning execution of relevant qualitative and quantitative Safety Analysis (e.g. FMEA,FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP etc.,)
  • Support in execution of ISO26262 Functional Safety life cycle – predominantly engineering aspects
  • Support in safety planning, coordination and execution of safety relevant activities
  • Support in development of project safety plan, safety cases, safety strategy, document flow etc.,
  • Moderation and participation of technical inspections
  • Support in performing verification and conformance reviews of FUSA work products
  • Set-up project SW Safety and Quality plan, target, drive project team to achieve goal.
  • Represent the interface to Quality Leader at customer side and work closely with customer interfaces in Quality and Engineering.
  • Ensure that Key, Identified Program deliverables are completed on time per the project schedule and meet excellent quality standards
  • Strong collaboration and cooperation with Program Manager, Developer and Customer
  • Coordination in deciding and verifying followed Safety methods and measures, targets etc. in the project
  • Coordination of Quality methods in the project
  • Ensure process compliancy within the development project
  • Coordination/supporting during functional safety audit and assessments
  • Ensure project compliance with ISO26262, demonstration of risks along product development / product life cycle

Basic Qualifications: List the minimum and desired education (including degrees, licenses, certification or registrations) and experience needed to perform the key responsibilities of the position.

  • University degree in the Engineering field and certified Functional Safety Manager& ASPICE assessor
  • Extensive experience in Automotive Engineering and Development as well as experience in Functional Safety implementation
  • Extensive knowledge on System, Hardware and Software
  • Experience in creation of safety concepts and analysis (FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA)
  • Knowledge about product development process
  • Experience in project and quality management
  • Profound knowledge in ISO 26262 and IEC 61508, Automotive SPICE/CMMI including legal aspects
  • Thorough knowledge of management systems, at least one of CMMi or Automotive Spice. Other standards such as ISO/TS16949 are desirable
  • Experience in creation of project safety plan/Quality plan
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong skills in communication, presentation and problem solving (customer and internal)
  • Flexible and autonomous working with global interfaces
  • English business fluent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experince of electrical product design or engineering
  • Experince of failure analysis for electrical product
  • Experince of pilot factory process & quality management.
  • Experience in Product life cycle management (DevelopmentàOperationàservice)

  • Understand the requirements, architecture, design and methodologies in the field of automotive domain
