Sr. Database Architect Engineer
Digital Intelligence Systems (DISYS) is seeking a Senior Database Architect Engineer to be a key resource for a dynamic Systems Infrastructure team at a leading IT Healthcare organization in Walnut Creek, California.
This key resource will provide Clinical data solutions for Health Care informatics efforts. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with strong organizational, analytical and problem- solving skills.
Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Works with business leaders to collect and interpret requirements and design effective database structures.
  • Strongly partners with management to further evolve applications while driving excellence in architecture and code.
  • Develops and maintains the blueprint of information technology architecture to meet business needs/application requirements.
  • Creates fluid, end-to-end vision for how data flows through application components.
  • Constantly monitors, refines and reports on the performance of data management systems.
  • Work with business to understand objectives and design a combination of tables, procedures, views, functions to effectively support applications.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a combination of communication skills and technical skills to communicate, develop and mentor teams while building complex solutions.
  • Works with strong team members to further improve existing systems code and structure.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and drive work forward.
  • Develops, maintains, and enforces development standards.
  • Documents, maintains and presents best practice strategies to team and management to ensure changes are aligned with department objectives.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of design and development using Microsoft SQL Server and its family of components.
  • Experience designing and working with TB databases.
  • Experience working with complex databases storing 500m+ rows.
  • Experience evaluating and creating POCs for other database technologies.
  • Experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration and implementation.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture environment.
  • Full application development life cycle experience.
  • Versioning systems, release management and continuous improvement.

Highly Desired:

  • Experience with NoSQL type of databases
  • Health care domain knowledge will be a plus
  • Experiencing developing in other application-based technology, i.e., C# or Java
  • Experience working in and with Linux based systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related technical area.
  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
