• The Database Developer and Administrator will be focused on development, designing, implementing, and maintaining database to a best-in-class infrastructure with strict availability and performance requirements.
• The DBA must have extensive knowledge of MS SQL including writing SQL scripts, high availability configurations, replication, multi-site data warehousing, summarization, and maintenance and reporting.
• This individual should be passionate about data management, data access and following core data management principles.
• The DBA must possess strong analytical skills, be able to understand and perform query optimization, and debug and solve any performance and load related problems quickly and efficiently.
• Working and Coordinating with Project Managers and Programmers.
• Communicating and Reporting to Technical, Application and Operational Staffs to ensure database integrity and security.
SQL Developer Skills and Qualifications:
• DBA need extensive familiarity with data management principles and best practices in order to properly store, migrate, and structure data for multiple applications.
• Should know the basics of software development, since they need to write complex operations, scripts, and triggers to support database access and frequently need to address software bugs.
• Should be familiar with server development and maintenance to help with troubleshooting and data migration tasks
• Should be excellent problem-solvers and can isolate and resolve database issues and maintain access and data integrity
• Communication skills are important in this role because the SQL developer needs to gather requirements and specifications in collaboration with IT professionals and end-users while reporting on database issues
• Should be able to develop more efficient processes for handling and accessing data and performing routine maintenance
