Roles and Responsibilities
- Ownership for the Software Architecture in line with Customer Specifications for Transformer Monitoring Systems (TMS).
- Development of Software in line with System Architecture and Functionality required by Customer.
- Testing of Software on Test Platforms or Customer Equipment for achieving the desired functionality.
- Accurate Documentation and Storage of Project Specific Software Packages.
- Work with L3 Technical Support Engineer and Customer to resolve any Software defects.
- Work with R&D; for development of new Features required by Customers.
- Ensure adherence to project deadlines as assigned by project manager.
- Completion of all assigned Tasks within the agreed Timeframe.
- Support resolution of System Test issues.
- Support in the further development of processes (process optimization) and the design tools employed with the aim of establishing uniform, rational project execution
- Follow Best Practices of each Region.
- Support continuous improvement activities with the aim of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution.
- Support root cause analysis activities with regards to product or performance issues.
- Ensure all designs meet the required standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering or MCA or Similar from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Software Development role, preferably in transformer monitoring or Industrial Applications or similar.
Desired Characteristics
- Working experience on following:
- Real Time Operating System (QNX Preferred)
- C++
- Shell Script Programming
- PHP
- Structured Text IEC 61131-3
- Experience in Transformer Monitoring equipment (TMS) design.
- Experience in Apache Web Server, Java Script, Html Files, CSS, Common Gateway Interface (CGI) Programming etc. will be an added advantage
- Experience of configuration languages used in automation systems (PLC’s)
- Engineering management, problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong cultural awareness and international experience
- Positive attitude towards customers, peers and managers
- Excellent team working skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
