The role is within Corporate Technology ( Finance group) responsible for supporting various MIS projects in the Finance Data Warehouse Application Platform. It is the corporate book of record for actuals and is the authoritative source of MIS information and the core corporate regulatory reporting tool for product areas such as Loans, Deposits, Derivatives and Regulatory Capital. It is the single most critical MIS system across JP Morgan and is used globally across all regions and Lines of Business including executive level management from Corporate and LOB CFOs, Product and Financial Controllers and P&A to drive key decisions around financial management.
The platform has several components such as ETL ( AbInitio), Database ( Oracle ) , and a reporting/analytics layer ( Business Objects and Essbase) and is the authoritative source for the firm’s actuals , plan and forecast. The application development team develops and supports the MIS applications used by the Corporate Finance group and various lines of business for their monthly MIS reports and analysis.
This role is specifically for an experienced AbInitio ETL Developer to support the ETL component of MIS application. The ETL developer will be expected to work closely with other team members (project managers, business analysts. Operate) in designing and ensuring overall integrity of project including design, build, defining test strategies/approaches , end-to-end System Integration Test creation and execution, providing User Acceptance Testing support and implementation support across multiple projects. They will be working closely with other test team members in multiple global locations primarily in the Columbus (US), Glasgow and Delaware (US).

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Analyze, Design, develop, code, test, debug and document as per the requirements of various projects
- Open minded to take on different roles ( other than the primary skill set) and work on other technologies as needed
- Participate in functional and design reviews , identify efficiencies and provides alternatives
- Participate in / Conduct code reviews and make sure that quality solutions are built to prescribed design and best practices/standards have been followed
- Participate in Test Strategy definition and creation of test scenarios/cases for DEV(Unit Test) /SIT/UAT and execution of the same.
- Identify efficiencies and ways to improve design, development and testing processes through automation or other means
- Troubleshoot systems production/performanceissues under tight deadlines
- Works with other team members, including DBA’s, Other ETL developers, Technical Architects, QA, Business Analysts & Project Managers
- Excellentknowledge of the Full life cycle of a project
Experience:
- 5-8 years of hands on work experience in Ab Initio (Application development)
- 5-8 years of hands on work experience in Oracle (SQL and Stored procedures)
- Good understanding of UNIX systems and shell scripts.
- At least5 years of software development experience required in Operational Data Store / Data Warehouse environment
- Knowledge of release management, version control practices and procedures
- Strong knowledge of development life cycles
- Experience with scheduling jobs using a scheduling tool like Control-M
- Solid design, coding, testing and debugging skills
- Must have full life-cycle experience in ETL projects, preferably in the finance industry
