Credit Risk Engineering team is responsible for Credit Risk decision, fraud detection, risk management decision and compute services across PayPal – globally. We design, develop, enhance and support services that get called across every interaction between PayPal and it’s users and partners. Our solutions need to scale across millions of such interactions, working with petabyte plus data, integrating with various other APIs in real time and yet providing high availability and configurability to the business. To achieve this we are always looking at advances in technology and science and tying those back to business needs.

Job Description:
Collections Engineering team is responsible for building nextgen collections platform that is used by collection agents across PayPal – globally. We build platforms that get called across every interaction between PayPal and it’s users and partners. Our solutions need to scale across millions of such interactions, working with petabyte plus data, integrating with various other APIs in real time and yet providing high availability and configurability to the business. To achieve this we are always looking at advances in technology and science and tying those back to business needs.
- You will be responsible for working with a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of a range of products on web and mobile platforms. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing agent-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project execution skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
- Responsibilities:
- Work within a team of highly talented engineers, product and architect to design and develop a highly scalable and configurable Pricing Platform in the PayPalâs Payment system.
- Being involved in design meetings to propose, discuss and refine new features and functionality.
- Write tests for the existing and newly created code to maintain compatibility
- Maintain and enhance the existing architectural documentations and create the new one as needed
- Participate in code and design reviews
- Provide suggestions for continuous improvements as necessary.
- 5+ years industry experience.
- Experience in building single page application using React or similar javascript technologies/libraries
- Experience in developing backend services in Node.js ,Java, Spring, Hibernate.
- Experience in developing frontend applications using popular JS frameworks like Angular.js, react, webpacks etc.
- Experience with test automation-Â TDD, unit testing, functional testing, integration testing
- Solid Understanding of basic OOPS, algorithmic techniques, design patterns and best practices.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, cross browser/device development, GraphQL, Restful standards and integration.
- Curiosity about how things work and the behavior of finding the answers. Flexible and adapting the changing circumstances, tenacious.
- Expertise on Unix and with relational databases, NoSQL databases.
- Experience with development of scalable and distributed software applications.
- Should be passionate and take pride in building systems that are used by millions of users every day.
- Should have good communication skills
