Department: Global Client Solutions Client Services Engineering
The Client Services Engineering team has developed multiple internal and external applications that aggregate data for internal dashboards as well as create enriched analytics and insights for direct client distribution. Control Center, FocalPoint, Environments, QuickLaunch, and many other highly-utilized applications have been developed and contain massive amounts of data to be analyzed and summarized for internal and external digital portals. FactSet is constantly generating new data that needs analysis and transformation to potentially expose to internal and external clients.
To help achieve the goals of Client Services Engineering, the Data and Services Architecture Software Engineer Lead will act as subject matter expert in the design, optimization, and oversight of backend services and data architectures. The necessity for continuous evaluation and iteration of our technology and processes means that an ideal engineering lead will possess a drive for constant improvement, and the interpersonal and organizational skills to manage complex projects from start to finish.
A successful candidate will have the ability to design backend services and architectures work with and assist team members in designing ETL processes develop and maintain various jobs and services and assist and guide CSE during our migration to the cloud.
Responsibilities

  • Build a team of Back-End and Data Engineers
  • Build robust and scalable software using C# in .NET and .NET Core and/or NodeJS.
  • Manage and maintain multiple databases, both cloud and on-premise
  • Design and create services and system architecture for your projects and contribute and provide feedback to other team members.
  • Help improve our code quality by performing code reviews.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology and products.
  • Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.
  • Build and maintain internal applications to support process engineering efforts, and write analytical scripts as needed

Desirable Candidates Will Have the Following Qualities

  • Bachelor degree or more in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience designing, optimizing, and supporting automated ETL processes
  • You find satisfaction in a job well done and want to solve head-scratching challenges.
  • Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, best practices and Agile Software Development.
  • Experience with .NET, and the willingness to learn new technologies
  • Establish best practices for the Data and Services Architecture team
  • Work autonomously, are excited by new technologies, and will never back down from the challenges of scale.
  • Strong background in technical communication, writing functional requirements, instructions, or procedures
