Responsibilities and Scope Impact / Scope

  • The Functional Application Support Expert is accountable for ongoing deep functional Finance support activities by domain related to the availability and integrity of financial information, transactions, and data (P2P, R2R, O2C).
  • Provides support to manage processes and working with IT to optimize the overall technical business performance including automation and simplification of specific domain business processes, including business testing
  • Collaborates with Functional teams, key business partners, and stakeholders on new requirements to deliver against their objectives and support them to achieve business outcomes through optimized process solutions.
  • Support the implementation of new corporate-wide accounting processes / systems updates (including process development, process implementation, process maintenance, and communication procedures) and support new projects / transitions.
  • Participate in training and mentoring programs, develop knowledge and expertise across the different mega process areas and domains.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of the Blackline Account Reconciliation System which includes security, exchange rates, reassignments, data management, and reporting
  • Provide General Ledger, Security, and Reporting support for all accounting and finance teams during the month-end close and between accounting periods
  • Create queries and oversee accuracy of existing queries and tables used.
  • Maintain consistency and integrity of accounting data through maintenance of documentation for system support functions and controls.
  • Assist in all project based such as requirement analysis, needs for additional configuration and process inclusions and changes
  • Work on standardizing and automating all types of reconciliations, including general ledger and balance sheet account, bank, credit card, cash, inventory, investment, or any other type of reconciliation.
  • Deep dive into RCA for blackline system issues and provide long term solutions
  • Author, review and submit minor Change Requests with supporting justifications for approval and implementation.
  • Review and ensure that business testing and validation of systems for releases, enhancements, process changes, etc. is done in a timely manner working closely with IT Delivery Schedule
  • Ensure process and system compliance to SOX, including periodic review of SOX controls (RACM’s)

Required Skills and Experience Education and Experience

  • First level university degree with a focus in Finance or Computer Science; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for a global company of alike and complexity
  • Accounting qualifications will be an added advantage (CA, CPA, ACCA)
  • Non-qualified accountants with relevant matching experience in a similar role
    • 6 -10 years’ experience
  • Good experience in blackline administration and support
  • Experience in managing processes and transactions in the areas of PR2R, and O2C with knowledge of supporting systems (NetSuite, Blackline, Tableau or similar enterprise financial system).

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

  • Blackline System Administrator or Local Administrator experience.
  • Should have complete understanding of configuration, setup and customization of below modules in Blackline
    • 1. Cash Applications
    • 2. Bank Matching
    • 3. Account Reconciliation
    • 4. Journals
    • 5. Variances
  • Proficient understanding of services delivered by Finance teams (Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Quote to Cash, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of ERP and Enterprise Finance systems in P2P, R2R, and O2C such as Netsuite
  • Ability to interact with IT and various functions, as well as will various levels of management.
  • Experience of supporting senior onshore leads and users through daily/hourly interactions.
  • Flexibility to support different time-zones and geographies with coverage availability for event based activities (i.e. month end close).
  • Proficient communication skills; ability to clearly articulate expectations and outcomes with various levels of management, both in Finance and across Businesses.

Other:

  • Experience in supporting transition of system support activities for finance processes (as mentioned above) from different geographies
  • Process improvement ideas for effective task management within deadlines, in shared service environment
  • Proficient business acumen and analytical skills (MIS reporting)
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decision in situation requiring trade-off
  • Self-motivator with the ability and confidence to work independently and to strict deadlines
  • Excellent team player, enthusiastic, innovative and proactive
