The Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Understand and apply the strategic architecture design principles and standards, Optimal data pipeline architecture, assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements

Business

  • Analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights for the business users, operational efficiency and internal and external reporting liquidity metrics

Processes

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc

People and Talent

  • Build the appropriate culture and values to be a role model. Acquire new skills to keep up the system update to date and to align bank wide new initiatives

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct.

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
Academic & Professional

  • Degree in Software Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related fields.

  • At least 3-6 years of working experience in Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Python/Scala, Hive) with emphasis on data manipulation, transformation & analysis

Skills & Attributes

  • The Quantexa Developer / Big Data Engineer will be a key member of Trade Quantexa Delivery team and responsible for the design, development and implementation of Quantexa product for Trade Finance. The role holder will form a key part of a fast-paced, ambitious, delivery programme.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of working on HDFS, Hive, Yarn and Spark

  • Strong coding background in either Python or Scala with high-performance, reliable and maintainable code

  • Experience in working in a development lifecycle with knowledge on versioning systems (GIT, Bitbucket), dependency management (Maven, Gradle) and continuous integration (Jenkins)

  • Experience in system solution design

  • Experience of building data processing pipelines for use in production &ldquohands-off&rdquo batch systems, including either traditional ETL pipelines and/or analytics pipelines.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Should have played business/ functional analyst role is an advantage.

  • Problem solving and analytical mindset

  • Effective communication skills

Good to have skills

  • Holding Quantexa Developer or Quantexa Business Analyst certification

  • Experience in managed services AWS EKS, Azure AKS

  • Experience in Angular

  • Microservices (OCP, Kubernetes)

Optional Skills:

  • Machine Learning/AI experience
