Senior Analyst (Finance) – Merchandising Finance, Category Support
The (FDS&A) team is responsible for providing analyses, insights and reporting that help identify drivers of performance and guide appropriate tactical actions to improve financial outcomes.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Senior Analyst to support the Merchandising Finance team. This role will be responsible for partnering directly with Merchandising Finance Category leaders to deliver insightful and proactive financial analysis that drive fact based, data driven decision making. The Merchandising Finance partner has a seat at the table and will work with the business to challenge the status quo and dive deep to solve complex business problems.
The successful candidate will be a creative thinker with a strong bias to action that has the ability to collaborate across Finance. This role requires a self-starter with strong financial modeling and problem-solving skills. The candidate should have a proven track record of influencing and supporting decisions in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop & deliver insightful financial reporting and dashboards
  • Partner with category finance teams to provide ad-hoc decision support analysis
  • Perform category specific deep dives to understand root cause
  • Provide tactical support for key Merchandising Executive meetings
  • Execute category specific event analysis & reporting
  • Support Merchandising teams during key financial and business processes (Annual/Strategic Plan, Forecast, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related analytical field
  • 4-6 years experience in a finance or analytical role. 1-2 years in retail domain preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Experience in retail domain is desirable
  • Exceptional analytical skills; highly detail oriented
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (MicroStrategy, TM1, Hyperion/Essbase, Business Objects, Cognos, Teradata, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-pace environment and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Prior FP&A experience desirable
  • Experience with visualization and business analysis tools (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, etc.) desirable
