Key Responsibilities:
1. Day to day / weekly review of non-operational expenses, ensuring proper GL scrutiny, proper cost centres and GL accounts are used.
2.Weekly review of operational gross margins.
3.Monthly book close of accounts in SAP
4.Monthly accounting for bad debts provision as per corporate policies
5.Monthly accounting of depreciation / ensuring correct capitalization of assets
6.Monthly non-operational accruals are correctly accounted and timely accounted
7.Ensure costs in functional cost centres are properly allocated to delivery cost centres
8.Ensure proper allocation keys are maintained for allocation of costs
9.Provide any clarification to the associate finance controller for clarification regarding accounting
10.Understand country specific nuances in business and any exception related to accounting.

Principal Accountabilities:
Management
1. Ensure all the activities done during the book close and ensure all activities are properly taken care before closing the books at the month end.
2. Own Standard interaction Procedures and ensure adherence.
3. Be updated with changes pronounced by Damco Centre Finance time and again.
4. Manage various major stakeholders like /, Area CFO’s, Area Controllers, Regional Controller, Delivery Leads.
Reporting
5. Coordinate the preparation of the Period end reporting/ Management reports if any
6.Ensure all agreed upon Reports for the region are prepared and published to the recipients on time without any delay.
7.Ensure and own KPI Reporting.
8.Any other reasonable adhoc requests as may be made from time to time by the Regional Finance controller or Delivery Lead.
Compliance
9.Set up a Control assurance framework to ensure compliance.
10.Coordinate the provision of information to auditors for the yearly audit.
We are looking for
Position Specifications:
. Post Graduate in Accounting with 5-7 years of accounting experience
. Good knowledge of Accounting and Reporting concepts
. Good verbal and written communication and presentation
Technical skills:
. Good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access)
. Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills with good English speaking skills
. Demonstrable track record in a similarly complex and challenging role.
.Experience in logistics business and working knowledge in HFM would be an added advantage.
Soft skills:
.Able to combine commercial knowledge and technical financial expertise
. Ability to work as part of a large multinational organisation, capable of influencing and understanding global view
.Strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational and communication skills
.Dynamic in nature and be prepared for robust changes happening in accounting and reporting department.
