Equities Derivatives Capital, Funding and CVA team is a group of engineers that cover all Equities Trading business around the globe at Goldman Sachs by helping them optimize equity and debt costs and increase profitability for firm trading books. The team has a broad mandate which includes developing models for attributed equity and initial margin. In addition to evolving the current metrics to measure return on equity, they are involved in specific exercises to optimize the business including analytics to understand capital and funding cost drivers as well as commercial optimizations based on intraday analytics and hedging tools. The team works closely with desk-specific quants and senior traders in the division to help maximize the profitability of Goldman Sachs Equities franchise.
As a CFC Strat in Equity Derivatives, you will be filling a mission-critical role ensuring that our capital and funding models are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed to scale. You will collaborate with various teams from engineering, trading, Operations, Sales to continually improve the models. CFC Strats utilize automation, tools and solid engineering principles to optimize existing systems, build infrastructure and eliminate operational work.
HOW YOU WILL FULLFIL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • You will be responsible for managing funding costs for the firm, building tools to reduce toil and increase insight into trouble spots, and implementing effective governance controls.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Provide impact in a variety of tactical work by being close to the day-to-day activity on the trading desks.
  • Identify and build improvements to system behaviour, control and monitoring tools.
  • Lead projects that continue to improve the availability, stability and performance
  • Be a part of a new team located in our Bengaluru office, which will own important parts of the equities risk management platform, working as part of a larger team present in New York, London and Warsaw.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from Tier I colleges or relevant work experience
  • 1+ years of industry experience of coding experience in one or more of the following: C++, Java, Python, Slang
  • Good understanding of industry-wide build and modelling tools
  • Experience with developing applications with sound knowledge of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis.
  • Ability to explain the appropriate benefits and drawbacks of the tools available
  • Development skills with experience in real time, highly concurrent environments.
  • Project management of tasks, issue resolution, and escalation.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Interest in and commitment to clean code principles and good coding practices
  • Ability and willingness to participate in code review process and other forms of knowledge sharing.
