- Analyze Customer User Requirements specifications
- Write technical proposals including clarification and exclusion lists for
- projects & commissioning
- Create Project Costing sheets including material and manpower costs for
- projects & commissioning
- Request, analyze and implement quotations for all main sub suppliers and include
- in technical proposal
- Develop Project schedules & Project Quality Plan
- Perform Project Risk assessments
- SAP project creation and maintenance.
- Complete basic design including process and instrumentation diagram, component lists
and process functional specifications
- Cross functional communication, progress monitoring, co-ordination of sub supplier
- activities (e. g. mechanical fabricators, electrical fabricators and software companies).
- Progress monitoring, reporting and control
- Financial status monitoring, reporting and control
- Project Management and co-ordination of small and mid- projects.
- Responsible to accomplish all site activities related system & project commissioning
- Responsible for purchasing and planning/coordinating all commissioning support activities including spare and wear parts handling for the corresponding commissioning support activities.
- Responsible for servicing and testing of complete systems hardware including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation. Must implement design modifications in agreement with the Project Engineering Team and Change Control procedures.
- Supporting the generation of System documents such as Spare parts lists and manuals
- May be required to troubleshoot PLC and HMI software based on established design.
- Responsible for the elaboration of POR root cause analysis for warranty investigations and sub sequential submittal into the quality POR system.
- Responsible for the generation and implementation of written commissioning support and/or test procedures and risk assessments.
- Responsible for documenting system modifications and conveying modification details back to Project Engineering, through the correct Change Control procedures.
- Responsible for ‘Red Lining’ system design drawings and operation manuals and forwarding to the Project Engineering Team for updating to ‘as-built’ status.
- Responsible for training customer personnel in the proper operation of the Pall System. Must prepare training materials for various Pall Systems Technologies, including the provision of Standard Commissioning support Products relating to the specific technology
- Assignments will involve travel to specified sites (both domestic and international) to perform project/commissioning support activities, which can last for long time. Travel may take place on evenings or weekends as required to meet the customer’s need. Travel schedules will be arranged as directed by the line manager and will be in accordance with the Pall Travel Policy.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customer. While performing commissioning support, the engineer must make sound technical decisions to meet customer requirements while maintaining Pall’s commercial interests.
- Should be able to independently resolve adverse situations constructively.
- Timely and accurate completion of Commissioning Reports, Time Tracking, Site Visit Reports, Expense Reports and other business related documents.
- Performing all commissioning supports in compliance with applicable Pall, site and industrial safety practices.
- Training Customers, in the correct use and maintenance procedures for Pall commissioning support products, including the generation and use of Commissioning Manuals.
- Providing production Support during Consistency Batches at customer site (commonly part of system contracts)
- Other reasonable duties as required by changes to Pall procedures or markets.
- Drive and Participate in Continuous improvement processes
- Chair/Execute daily visual management
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters in Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant experience and knowledge to perform commissioning support on a filtration, separation and purification system/equipment in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Position Competencies (must haves for the position):
Essential Previous Experience:
- A minimum of 1-10 years post qualification experience in a commissioning support or similar position within the biopharmaceutical market.
- Factory test work and/or site work experience.
- Multi-discipline work experience.
- Detailed knowledge of apertures, fittings, valves, measuring devices and electrical installation is a must.
- Cross trained in electrical / instrumentation / mechanical / process disciplines is essential.

- Must be prepared to work unsociable hours when required e.g. overtime, shift work, weekend and holiday working.
- Current driving license.
- Passport holder.

- Able to work away from home for extended durations.
- Work well alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to integrate into international teams (Pall and customer), including understanding of cultural differences.
- Computer literate including email, office applications and general Windows features.
