Amazon is looking for an IT Engineer to join the Global OpsTechIT Network Operation Center (NOC).
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Network Operation Center Engineer who proactively identify events, remove risk to the customer, resolve globally impacting barriers, and drive innovation within the team. On a typical day, the employee will monitor, analyze, track, and escalate critical events, invoke protocol alerting, swift assignment to support organization, correlate multiple events, lead proactive investigations, implement changes to avert future risk, and assist in process improvements for Global Operation teams. This role will also serve as a central monitoring location for the OpsTechIT supported sites IT and non-IT systems impacting Operations. Candidate must be forward thinking with a high degree of customer service focus, extensive experience in evaluation of network performance, detailed knowledge in Server functions, and excellent communication skills. The NOC team is responsible for 24X7 monitoring of the infrastructure and will serve as an initiator for all High Severity Events (HSEs), Multiple Severity Events (MSEs), and Large Scale Events (LSEs).
The ideal candidate will need to have an understanding of OpsTechIT Organization supporting Amazon World Wide Operations including Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, Prime Now, Fresh, Air and Delivery Stations last mile and middle mile sites IT infrastructure, Applications, facilities infrastructure and how all these entities co-exist.
Your peers will be system and software support engineers working to ensure Fulfillment Center systems are healthy and available to meet customer demands. In this role you will have the opportunity to participate in solutions to business problems that are truly unique to Amazon. This is a global team and strong communication skills are a must.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree
· 5+ years of experience in Network Operation Center or equivalent work experience required
· Experience in handling different Monitoring platforms and its functions
· Skilled with Network Management tools (Monitoring, flow analysis, graphing)
· Experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.
· Experience supporting global support teams in escalating and tracking high-severity problem impacts, assisting in root cause analysis, and driving tasks to remove future risk.
· Experience communicating cross-functionally and across all support organizations
· Experience in ITSM tools and integration
· Technical experience in one or more IT related fields including networking, Linux administration, Microsoft administration, and/or Cisco network configuration and management
· Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, and a strong team player who works well with immediate and extended team, and consistently puts the team above oneself.
· Ability to work in and keep up with a fast moving environment via effective prioritization and time management. Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or technical discipline
· NOC operations are considered a business critical function which requires flexibility by the candidate to meet business needs. This may include weekday, weekend, evening and remote support if required.
· High Degree of ownership in all matters within IT infrastructure and root cause analysis
· Experience in extensive monitoring platforms and its functions
· Experience in high-severity triage, escalations and issue management
· Experience in Ticketing tools and its functions
· Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc.
· Experience with one or more of the following: Router, Server, Load Balancer, and Firewall vendor platforms: Cisco or Juniper.
· Some experience working in a Linux/Unix environment. Possess Scripting skills or have desire to learn them; specifically, Python, Perl, or Shell.
· Some experience in common networking tools and troubleshooting methodologies such as Telnet, SSH, ping, traceroute, and Wireshark.
· Desired Qualifications/Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP.
· Can independently identify areas needing improvement or change and bring to management’s attention
· Plans, coordinates, and monitors NOC project activities.
· Develops technical applications and documentation to support NOC Analysts and end-users.
