National Girl Child Day 2023: National Girl child day is being celebrated throughout India based on more promising themes than ever in its states on 24th January 2023. The essential date 24th of January observes National Girl Child day which was established back in 2008 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India to eradicate the inequalities, social evils, lack of opportunities, and any kind of stumbling block faced by the girls and women and to let them hold an even break in various fields shaped up by this patriarchal society. This Year Ministry of Women and Child Development is marking the 15th Anniversary of the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign.
National Girl Child Day 2023 Objectives
National Girl Child Day is observed to spread awareness about the inequalities faced by girls in Indian society, and also to promote awareness about the rights of the girl child and the importance of female education, health, and nutrition. As we know in India, gender inequality is one of the major issues that is needed to be focused on and it exists in several areas including legal rights, education, medical care, marriage, etc. Here are the National Girl Child Day 2023, objectives:
- To increase awareness about the importance and role of the girl child.
- To increase the consciousness of the people and offer new opportunities to the girl child in society.
- To remove all the inequalities faced by the girl child.
- To ensure that the girl child should get all their human rights, respect, and value in the country.

- To provide opportunities to girls and rights for their betterment.
- To educate people about the health and nutrition of a girl.
- To provide equal rights and allow them to move to any part of the country.

To make 2023 a banner year for girls and women, we must all pitch in and do our part. We as a society need to fight against anything that gives a tag of ‘broken reed’ to the girls around, that degrades their essence and that makes us predict wrongs with them. The debates on Women’s safety have mushroomed into a major matter. It’s high time to put out all the stops to strengthen a girl child’s status in every sphere of life. Put in efforts to give girls a secure environment, equal opportunities, no discrimination, and higher education for a whole India, a strong India.
