Job Description
VMware HCI BU is seeking a senior engineer to design and develop Storage Management software for Virtual Machine (VM) and Container workloads on vSAN, VVOL, Kubernetes, Docker and other emerging container technologies.
Our team’s mission is to build storage management software to establish vSphere & vSAN as the best HCI platform to deploy and manage VM and container applications.
Responsibilities
Design and develop automation framework for functional testing of Cloud Native Storage systems, automate the test cases and integrate them into the continuous integration suite
Participate in design and code reviews.
Initiate and drive cross team/functional activities that help in improving technical expertise and knowledge sharing among the teams. Drive Initiatives & Innovations that helps drive process and efficiency improvements.
Analyze functional requirements for the product; understand customer use case scenarios and enhance as needed
Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of storage industry directions and trends
Required skills:
A Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
3 – 6+ years of experience designing and developing software for large scale distributed systems
Must have strong coding experience in python coding
Experience working in R&D teams
Experience in developing and testing various python-based frameworks.
Knowledge of QA methodologies/Software development life cycle.
Should possess strong trouble shooting and debugging skills.
Experience on Storage or Distributed Storage Systems is a plus.
Understanding of OS/kernel internals and their interaction with hardware virtualization including memory management, resource management, CPU scheduling and device drivers is a plus.
