Marketing Operations Specialist – Budget & Planning (Marketing)

Your work will involve marketing cost forecasting, commit and actual reconciliation, marketing planning & budgeting process development, regional support and enablement. You will help drive improvements in forecast accuracy and marketing spend analysis on a global basis. Reporting into the Head of Marketing Budgeting and Planning, Marketing Operations Specialist is an integral part of the team with responsibility for:

  • Further developing the Marketing Planning Process to ensure timely, consistent, and integrated delivery of marketing plans
  • Drive marketing plan requirements in alignment with the global GTM
  • Assist in managing the marketing cost and demand forecasting process
  • Supporting and training the Marketing team on the overall budgeting and planning process
  • Partnering with budget owners and finance teams to help streamline the PR, PO, accrual and actual reconciliation process
  • Spend tracking and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for tighter controls on spend management
  • Documenting processes and producing instructional videos & other training content
  • Providing data driven recommendations for process improvements, system enhancements and marketing budget allocation
  • Contributing to the change management and transformation plans aligned to marketing plans and strategy

The person who fills this role will be a self-starter who is experienced the marketing budgeting and planning process and able to use data and analytics to for process improvements.
The key customers will be the Head of Marketing Budget and Planning, Marketing managers of marketing functions like Customer Marketing, Segment Marketing, Field Marketing and Digital Marketing. Other stakeholders include Finance, Strategic Sourcing, IT and Global Marketing Operations.
Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of marketing operations, sales operations or finance operations experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Good financial acumen and experienced in working with complex budget allocations, cost forecasting, accruals and actuals reconciliation
  • Experience of working in a global environment with multiple regional teams
  • Experience of managing marketing budgets using tools like Netsuite, Allocadia, Aprimo or Infigrow etc
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize competing tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for good customer service will be a vital success factor
  • Self-Starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or a related field)
