CommScope is looking to add a Manager Operations Support at its plant in Goa
General Summary
This is a KEY leadership position in Operations. The incumbent will Lead, plan, and direct the activities of assigned personnel in the functions that include: Facility/Factory Projects, Facility Management, Maintenance, Fabrications and installation, design drafting and engineering, capital projects and programs in order to provide the most efficient and economical service to the Corporation.
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Has overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.
  • Helps define project scope, goals and deliverables; Define tasks and required resources
  • Manage budget; Allocate project resources; Create schedule and project timeline; Track deliverables; Supports and directs team
  • Monitor and report on project progress; Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs; Evaluate and assess result of project
  • Coordinate maintenance department activities for the care and upkeep of all manufacturing equipment, support equipment, utilities, etc. Maintain spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate equipment fabrication and installation functions that include minor equipment fabrication including mechanical and electrical, equipment installation and relocation, tool and die fabrication. Determine department cost versus outside vendor cost of goods produced.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance program through a semi-annual schedule to increase performance and maximize life expectancy of all production equipment.

  • Preferably BE with 15+ Years of Related Experience
  • 10 + Years of Managerial experience leading a group of senior Managers and Engineers
  • Strong background in Factory Operations with Experience in running Projects; Facilities; Maintenance
  • Critical Experience Required: Strong Project management Experience having lead large projects

Skills Required:

  • Leadership Skills: Must possess impeccable leadership qualities and ability to lead the team in the best possible manner. A strong knowledge base coupled with effective leadership skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Must have the ability to implement a systematic approach to solve complex problems
  • Communication Skills: Ability to understand clearly company’s end-objectives and communicate those objectives to the team members precisely and concisely. Must hold strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate their ideas, expectations, requirements, and deliverables to team members, vendors, and stakeholders alike.
  • Time and Team Management Skills: Ability to manage time and promote teamwork that will result in improving productivity, resolving conflict, evaluating the performance of the team, and monitoring overall progress of projects.
  • Risk Management Skills: Must have the ability to foresee risks in an ongoing project. Risk management is the process of identifying, analyzing and responding to the risk factors associated with a project.
  • Organization Skills: Must the ability to multi-task and demonstrate organization skills that include prioritizing tasks, compartmentalizing projects to avoid confusions, and neatly documenting every process for easy access and future reference. It also includes envisioning all the steps throughout the life of the project and predicting issues that might occur in the future.
  • Adaptability: Businesses are evolving at a rapid pace – whether it is new processes, technologies or standards, there is something new every day. The ability to adapt to the growing changes is equally critical. He must be able to implement a strategy to work around the changes without impacting the existing operations.
