Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners over the HSBC Group. As part of the Financial accounting team, we are primarily responsible for all the month close activities and post month-end reporting on Saracen that lead up to the preparation of the financial statements.
The Opportunity:
The incumbent will be responsible for preparation of various financial reports for HBUK entity in Financial Accounting process. The covers the entire ambit of Financial accounting including Transaction accounting, Period end close, Group Reporting and Balance sheet substantiation.
What you’ll do:
- Key responsibility is the production & review of Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly entity Reporting submissions and other related disclosure reporting in a timely, accurate and consistent format/manner
- The individual will be responsible for managing financial accounting / reporting process.
- Responsible for preparing financial reports as per requirement of IFRS / Finrep
- Responsible for meeting the defined SLAs and managing good relationship with the customer
- Ensuring all the BAU activities are done timely and accurately
- Co-ordinate & effectively communicate with other teams in diverse locations across in-country / GFC.
- Ensuring adherence to control in BAU process and keeping EUCs / SOPs updated.
- Be a team player in supporting any other OA activities, wherever applicable.
- Lead and execute process improvement initiatives within the team and improve efficiency
- Should possess knowledge around building Fee amortisation models and suggesting accounting treatments, to efficiently contribute to accurate functioning of the financial aspects of different product related models
- Provide timely PL & BS analysis and commentaries thereafter and provide review & sign off pack for Senior management
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- CA/CWA/MBA: 8+ years of qualification experience or B.com with 12+ years of experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
- Evidence of process management skills with an ability to initiate process improvements.
- Capability to understand, analyse and interpret numeric data.
- Excellent Communication and Inter person skills – Both verbal and written
What additional skills will be good to have
- Past experience of working in Banking/Financial services organization of repute will be an advantage.
- Understanding of international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Advance knowledge of MS Excel and basis knowledge of MS Access (Visual basics) and Macros are preferred
- Willing to stretch as per the process requirements.
