Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing Linux system for large IT enterprises.
Hands on experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration (system management, system setup
and managing Linux based servers as well as configuring them)- version 5, 6 and 7
Experience in Linux OS installation, Software and Patch management
Should have strong knowledge on Volume Manager Administration Network OS / SW installation, Linux
Heartbeat Clustering, OS patching skills on UNIX / Linux (Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and
upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary).
Support experience on VERITAS Volume manager and SAN related tools.
Knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting memory issues.
Must have knowledge on architectural concept regarding console servers for Solaris or Linux (SPARC)
Good knowledge about the Linux system files, boot process and run levels.
Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of server and network hardware and peripherals.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Management
applications per project or operational needs.
Perform on-going performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure
CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
Graduate / under- graduate (Engineer) required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to put requirements into operational scenarios and
communicate effectively with management and customers
