About the team
The Legal Accounting team is a newly created group supporting various teams such as FIS Tax, Treasury, and Statutory Accounting. The primary role of this team will be the monitoring and review of current year financials by legal entity. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate closely with the team manager and assist in the development of team members.
What you will be doing

  • Work in close collaboration with team manager and assist in coaching and development of team analysts.
  • Monitor and analyze balance sheet and income statement variances by legal entity and provide oversight and guidance to team of analysts.
  • Prepare and review various analysis reports and detailed schedules to be submitted to corporate/other stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Meets with organizational unit/department managers to discuss legal entity variances and establish process for effective and timely communication.
  • Determine proper accounting treatment for various non-recurring intercompany transactions such as dividends paid, dividends received, capital contributions, etc.
  • Identify and proactively resolve issues that could result in financial misstatements and classification errors at a legal entity level.
  • Manage various ad hoc and regular queries.

  • Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent
  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
  • Analytical and statistical examination skills
  • Ability to understand and apply learned concepts
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
