Job Description Summary
The Lead SW Engineer will be working to develop and deliver required product features for an 61850 compliant system configuration tool, working together with engineers based in HVDC Stafford/UK and other global locations. The role is accountable for business critical NPI software development in order to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement backend/frontend software based on existing
  • 61850 configuration tool framework
  • . Integrate software packages with existing systems and sub-systems.
  • . Prepare unit test and regression test specification, packages and templates.
  • . Support/execute software release testing
  • . Interact with a multi-discipline engineering team to meet the project
  • requirements throughout its life cycle.
  • . Prepare formal and informal engineering documentation (e.g. Design
  • documents, code reviews, Release reports,…)

Required Qualifications

  • . Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Technology or Engineering.
  • 6 to 8 years of hands on SW development experience
  • . In-depth knowhow in Java Technology Stack – Eclipse Common Platform, Eclipse
  • Modelling Framework, Graphic Modelling Framework
  • . Previous experience delivering large scale Java software solutions
  • . Expertise in Software architecture and design
  • . Exposure to Embedded C/C++, Matlab/Simulink (and/or other auto-coded
  • controls software)
  • . Understanding of the IEC-61850 System Configuration standard or
  • Industrial/Power equipment configuration
  • . Experience with 61850 Configuration tools (Helinks STS preferred)
  • . Familiarity with modern cybersecurity constructs (e.g. Static Analysis, Digital
  • Signatures etc.)
  • . Familiar with Agile-SW development practices
  • . Experienced user Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation
  • . Strong can-do attitude and energy level
