Roles and Responsibilities
- To deliver the GE HVDC Control System, the candidate will work in a team to bring together the complex and technically advanced systems incorporating hardware and software systems. The primary focus for the role is on developing and maintaining the Software for HVDC system including system architecture.
- Design, develop, implement and maintain Software requirements
- MATLAB/Simulink and Embedded Development tool chain planning.
- Recommend process improvements to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Work with product owners across the businesses to understand needs & vision.
- Work directly with customers to understand business and technical needs.
- Support in Software Release process.
- Prepare unit test and regression test specification, packages and templates.
- Unit, Module and Integration testing of the software developed at various stages.
- Prepare formal and informal engineering documentation.
- Implement software QA activities, incl. Code, Milestone and Release reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Degree Qualified in an Engineering Discipline ideally with a software content.
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Build Server development and deployment activities.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of version control systems (e.g. GIT/SVN).
- Professional experience in software development.
- Requirement and Change management; requirement capture, RQM tools
- Release management and notes , expertise in version control.
Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of HVDC/FACTS / High Voltage substations will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Matlab /Python
- Experience 8 to 12 years
