Job Description Summary
Lead engineer in COE is responsible for execution of complete project as a lead of generator auxiliaries design with support of team & would be responsible for key deliverables & timely execution of projects while maintaining first pass yield. He will work with consulting & Principal engineers on different technical topics & validation of project design under his responsibilities.
He shall have good experience in design of large hydro projects with expertise in hydro generator design domain . He shall actively assess new ideas & technologies for enabling product cost-out. He shall be able to resolve any technical issue during execution of project with interfacing functions , COEs & site crew.
He will be responsible for leading key technical assignment & programs beside technical execution of projects. He shall utilize his expertise & experience to solve problems, develop & execute objectives for self focusing on short & long term business goalsJob Description
Responsibilities
– To understand the specification of the project, product, customer requirement, Generator operating parameters and operating sequences of Hydro power plant
– Lead and co-ordinate various design activities of Auxiliaries in a project, managing interfaces with other functions – perform role of Project Auxiliary leader
– Perform Basic Design and calculations for Generator auxiliary systems such as Braking, Lifting, Thrust bearing oil injection, Oil mist exhaust, Air-water Coolers, Oil-water coolers for bearings, Piping systems for auxiliary systems
– Prepare technical specifications and drawings specifying design requirements
– Manage and execute work-packages with Product definition team
– Working with suppliers for defining, improving or cost out during design phase
– Support to Supply chain during execution phase
Accountabilities
Execute with required Quality, within budget and lead times specified
Measurement
On time delivery, Quality, Cost (components, engg hours)
Educational Requirements
B. E. (Mechanical/Electrical) or above
Knowledge / Experience
– At least 5 years in design of Hydro Generator auxiliary systems. Total experience desired > 8 years
– Experienced in understanding engineering requirements of Hydro Generator
– Applied knowledge of Mechanical engg and Electrical engg, Piping standards, Heat exchangers, Instrumentation
– Experienced in calculating / specifying standard components like motors, pumps, drive systems, hydraulic circuits, exhaust systems.
– Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes
– Good level in ‘MS Office’ Application
– User Level SAP System, PLM (Enovia)
– Experienced in 3D CAD System preferably UG NX
