The official Karnataka Web Portal has been designed and developed keeping in view to highlight the rich and glorious cultural heritage of the Karnataka state.

This official Karnataka portal contains total information on history, language history, customs, rituals, religious practices, cultural heritage, awards received by the state, state awards, information of districts and their representatives, Complete contact directory ranging from the honourable Governor up to the District Police Superintendents, complete information depicting current affairs of the state, comparative analysis of the state with the nation, sustainable development goals, information about tourist attractions etc.

This also Includes official notifications, photographs, video clips, interviews, documentaries issued by the government. This portal provides direct links to various government departments, corporations, regulations, factories, educational institutions, medical institutions, projects and societies.

Currently the website contents are uploaded by the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Department of Kannada and Culture and the Directorate of Economic and Statistical Information through the “Content Management System”, which holds the copyrights of the website.

Roles & Responsibilities

This website is being jointly developed by the Department of Kannada and Culture, the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Department of Economics and Statistics, and the e-Governance Centre being the Stakeholders.

Departments follow the Content Management and Approval Policy (CMAP) when uploading information to the website. Under CMAP policy, the nodal officers are given the responsibility of assigning 3 roles based on the guidelines, in their respective departments, namely Content Creator, Content Moderator and Content Approver. The content creator prepares the information needed for the website in the initial stage. The content moderator will review that content, amend wherever necessary and send it for approval to the Content Approver. Information is published on the website only after the content is approved by the Content Approver. The Nodal Officers have the power to regulate the system.

Every department has its roles and responsibilities. Information is provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations, Department of Economics and Statistics. Since these departments have the right to information published on the website, have the right to obtain permission from these departments for the reuse of published information.

The Centre for e-Governance manages the website’s design, development, security measures and technical related responsibilities, including data management.
This site was developed for the benefit of the public and an electronic platform for information exchange for the noble citizens

The website has been designed in accordance by the “Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW), User Guidelines (Accessibility Guidelines), International Standards Guidelines,” Kannada Development Authority’s Recommendations for Karnataka, and is visually disabled and user friendly.

Designed to be responsive to all types of display devices. Security audit given by third parties, does not compromise website security. The portal is published in the Karnataka State Data Centre.
The website version (version) is upgraded in terms of information, design and technology, with new features being published in each new version.
