The Information Technology Department has an opening for an IT Business Continuity Lead. This position is located in Deer Valley, Arizona or Phoenix, Arizona.
Position Purpose
Information Technology, chartered with managing the IT 250 enterprise applications, hosted internally and externally, supporting 2,000+ retail locations, is looking to hire an IT Business Continuity Lead to manage our IT business continuity program initiatives. As an IT Business Continuity Lead you will be responsible for driving the objectives of the program while aligning closely with other leaders across infrastructure, operations, application management, and the PMO. Success is measured by your ability to organize work, manage risk and drive delivery around continuity and infrastructure recovery.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership, oversight, and supervision to multiple initiatives within the program while driving delivery and achieving desired business goals.
- Focus on building the core pillars of business continuity, technology recovery and IT emergency response programs using industry best practices.
- Innovate and operate outside the comfort zone of established methods and procedures.
- Establish immediate credibility at all levels both inside and outside the organization and develop lasting, productive and collaborative relationships.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills including the ability to simplify complex concepts, ideas and risks to senior leadership, both technical and non-technical.
- Evangelize and succinctly explain standards of excellence for developing best practices in areas of business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Drive the adoption of new tools, systems, and strategies.
- Drive the effort for governing our recoverability as the enterprise continues to grow, adapt and migrate to new hosting and service strategies.
- Provide hands-on business continuity direction as well as thought leadership to infrastructure and application teams.
- Make engineering design recommendations to project and support teams for incorporating failover and DR capabilities of critical systems.
- Develop a trusted relationship with both IT and corporate continuity leadership
- Work closely with the Program Management Office, to uphold the guidelines, best practices, and compliance adherence across multiple projects within the portfolio.
- Assume responsibility of the overall program and the projects it depends on. Responsible for putting together cross-project dependencies, roadmaps, and timelines across multiple projects within the portfolio. Host and lead cross-track program meetings and manage program level communications.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of managing and driving large, distributed efforts across multiple enterprise portfolios.
- Successfully worked in partnership with colleagues throughout an enterprise-scale organization, and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT leadership position, overall 10+ years of project management. Experience in Information Security or business continuity/disaster recovery.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills.
- Must be able to lead and influence others, and drive collaborative work sessions
- Successfully worked in partnership with colleagues throughout an enterprise-scale organization, and in leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals.
- Previous experience with medium to large projects in Retail companies
- Proven track record of managing and driving large, distributed efforts across multiple enterprise portfolios.
- Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts, ideas, and strategies to senior leadership and end-users.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to balance competing priorities in meeting business deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
- Extensive creativity, drive, high energy level, and the ability to self-manage.
- Advanced knowledge of system recovery design and architecture including technologies such as server clustering, data replication, and mirroring, high-availability, intra-site load balancing, failover, point-in-time data recovery, network, and global load balancing.
- Broad knowledge of staple IT technologies (e.g., operating systems, servers, virtualization, storage, networks and databases) is desirable.
- Ability to work with onshore, offshore and third-party technical resources.
- Must be able to work 7/24 periodically to support off-hour testing.
- Retail experience preferred.
