Are you an experienced Instructional Designer interested in an opportunity to help drive Amazon’s flywheel and develop your A to Z business understanding
The FinOps (Finance Operations Org) is seeking a creative and experienced Instructional Designer /Curriculum developer to join FinOps T&D (Training and Development team) to create and continuously improve learning programs using an array of creative approaches that inspire learners and drive productivity.
This is an individual contributor role on a highly collaborative team and dynamic business. This individual must be self-driven and have the experience, capability, and confidence to design/develop self- and instructor-led trainings for the Finance Operations employees around the world. The role requires an individual who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. This role will work closely with SME’s, channel leads, product, engineering and other stakeholders to create impactful content, training approach and manage communications for launches, enhancements and improvements. The role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in adult learning and instructional design strategies for performance-based outcomes, who can innovate, and move quickly.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Use appropriate tools and delivery methods to produce blended learning materials promoting learning through self-study, practice, performance support, socialization and knowledge-sharing
. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content. Work with subject matter experts to identify target audiences training needs.
. Identify learning objectives, assess learners, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver instruction including consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and learning objectives.
. Pursue a deep understanding of learner roles to ensure that learning solutions meet the needs of stakeholders and end users.
. Develop assessments, exercises, activities that measure learner outcomes including productivity and understanding. Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.).
. Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (usually from face-to-face to eLearning and virtual). Manage the development of instructional materials (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, tests, etc.) that transform technical information into engaging instructional materials.
. Develop Story Boards for Prototypes/Pilots. Perform Self Reviews and ensure process adherence. Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them.
. Develops comprehensive measurement strategies for all learning solutions to demonstrate business impact and effectiveness.
. Communicates effectively in visual, oral, and written form and deliver engaging presentations to business leaders.
. Designs learning that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners, including the demonstrated understanding of cultural differences that may apply.
. Understands how to manage and administrate an LMS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design or a relevant field
. 8 years of relevant experience in Instructional Design, curriculum development
. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following tools: Articulate Storyline, Lectora, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), and related SCORM or Tin Can compliant production tools
. Ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize, manage, and complete projects with tight deadlines
. Experience using data to measure the impact of learning interventions
. Full Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Bachelor / Master’s Degree preferably in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Learning Technology, or a related field
. Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g., CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.)
. Experience developing training for applications & tools
. Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
. Experience using Web-based Learning Platforms, Social Learning, Gamification and with the use of Multimedia
. Experience in program management, process improvement and/or operations in a Financial Operations Customer Service environment
. Adept at stakeholder management, setting and managing expectations, risks & mitigations
. Familiar with the Amazon brand and shopping experience
