What Is GDCE?
The full form of “GDCE” is “General Departmental Competitive Examination.” This is an internal competitive exam conducted by Indian Railways for eligible employees in various departments to compete for promotional opportunities and move to higher positions within the organization. The General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) program was initially established in 1993 to address 25% Of the net Direct Recruitment Quota vacancies in the critical safety category post of Junior Engineer, Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician Grade-III & Guard/Train Manager.
