Congenital Heart Defects Facts
Congenital means present at birth. Congenital heart defects are heart conditions that a baby’s born with. These conditions can affect the heart’s shape or how it works, or both.
Congenital heart defects are the most common types of birth defects. Birth defects are health conditions that a baby’s born with that change the shape or function of one or more parts of the body. They can cause problems in overall health, how the body develops, or in how the body works.
Critical congenital heart disease (also called CCHD) is group of the seven most severe congenital heart defects. They may affect the shape of a baby’s heart, the way it works, or both.

A unique initiative by Government of Kerala to support children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).Today CHD happens to be the largest treatable cause of death amongst infants, since kerala has almost dealt with most of the conventional reasons.
This is a web based solution for system management of care of children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). This can be used as web based registry for CHD cases across Kerala, monitoring the progress of program envisaged for management of children with CHD, identify the bottlenecks for implementing the protocols established at any point, understand the case status and response time for systems in place and ultimately the outcome of the program.
