  1. RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) & Technicians

The railway Assistant loco pilot or technician job requires you to have technical knowledge. The educational qualifications required to appear for RRB ALP/technician exams is given below. The last recruitment notification for RRB ALP was released in 2018.

For the post of ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot):-

  1. First stage CBT
  2. Second Stage CBT)
  3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (AT).

For the post of Technician:

2. RRB JE (Junior Engineer)

Railway Recruitment Board releases the recruitment notification for the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant in various railway zones. The last recruitment notification for RRB JE was released in 2019.

RRB JE Educational qualifications

  • Junior Engineer: Diploma/Degree in Engineering in relevant discipline.
  • Junior Engineer (Information Technology): PGDCA/B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ BCA / B.Tech. (Information Technology)/ B.Tech. (Computer Science)/ DOEACC ‘B’ Level Course of 3 years duration or equivalent from recognised university/ institute.
  • Depot Material Superintendent: Diploma/Degree in Engineering from any discipline.

RRB JE Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 33 years

RRB JE Selection Process

  1. First Stage CBT

3. RRB NTPC (Non-technical popular categories)

RRB releases the notification for the recruitment under the Non-Technical Popular Categories to recruit various posts for undergraduates and graduates. The last notification was released in 2019 where 1.26 crore applications from undergraduate and graduate candidates were received by the railways from all over India.

For Under Graduate Posts: Candidates must pass Minimum Educational Qualification of 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent examination.
For Graduate Posts: Candidates with Minimum Educational Qualification of a University Degree or its equivalent will be eligible to apply.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

  1. The RRB NTPC stage 1 consists of 40 questions from General Awareness, and 30 each from Mathematics & General Intelligence & Reasoning with 90 minutes time duration.
  2. The RRB NTPC stage 2 contains 50 questions from General Awareness and 35 each from Mathematics & General Intelligence & Reasoning with a time duration of 90 minutes.
  3. The typing test will be held to check the typing skills of the candidates for the mentioned posts.

4. Railway Group D

The railway recruitment board conducts the RRC Level-I (Group-D) Recruitment for various group D posts in railways.

Railway Group D Pay Scale – Different posts carry different pay levels and allowances as admissible as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Railway Group D educational qualifications- 10th pass (OR) ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT (or) equivalent (OR) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT

Railway Group D age limit- 18 to 33 years.

Railway Group D Selection Process

The recruitment process involves the following stages of examination:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
