• Direct architecture activities within Cloud & Compute Operation Team. Ensure alignment between business strategy and plans with technology that will support the strategy. Including that our business goals are in alignment with its technical aspects. Apply a holistic approach to create a solution that will help Syngenta achieve its goals. Provides leadership to other architects and engineers within the Cloud & Compute teams.
• Drive a positive and close working relationship with Syngenta’s IT teams and selected collaborators and outsourcing partners. Pro-actively communicate and engage with the IT and Business communities as a visible ambassador of IT and digital
• Develop a scaled agile team culture. Facilitate, motivate and support the personal and professional development of our Tribe members
• Responsible for overall technology roadmap and driving its implementation for Cloud Compute.
• Ensure that IT designs are aligned with IT delivery standards and guidelines, uphold security polices and conform to support and maintenance processes.
• Develop highly scalable, flexible, resilient, secure and cost-effective cloud blueprints, designs and solutions for a hybrid cloud environment.
• Ensure that solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
• Develop POCs and solutions in partnership with Cloud Engineering, Operations, Development and Application Developments teams to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitates complete integration. This also covers development of new or existing standards, guidelines, processes, and policies to support the outcome of these activities.
• Guide migration teams to ensure optimal use of cloud technologies.
Experience required:
• Experience with at least 3 of the following: Public cloud architecture, Private cloud architecture, Hybrid cloud architecture, IaaS and PaaS architecture and DevOps approach to IT (8+ years)
• Hands-on understanding of AWS and/or Azure
• Demonstrated ability to design for enterprise IT and catalyze novel concepts in Hybrid Cloud Architectures as applied to the agriculture industry
• Demonstrated skills in working across functions to bring increased business value through seeing the bigger picture, collaboration, and alignment of diverse needs
• Career experience working with senior business leaders and multi-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to bridge information technology with business strategies
Critical knowledge and education required:
• Ideally post-graduate degrees in information technology.
• Mastery of Agile change delivery and steady state operations (e.g. DevOps, SaFE)
• This leader is ideally connected with external IT and digital innovators and able to assess technology disruption
• This leader has a good balance between people focus and value over investment mindset, driving IT and digital as a strategic investment towards profitable growth.
• Fluency in English, additional languages beneficial
