DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for a smart, motivated, and analytical Credit Analyst to join our credit team. He or she will have responsibility for providing a thorough credit risk assessment as they apply for Amazon businesses, including data related assessment of the portfolio risk. This will involve high judgment and frequent interaction with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure decisions are sound and well understood. The Credit Analyst will also support the monitoring and management of the entire accounts receivable portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong desire in innovating processes, strong attention to detail and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and often ambiguous environment.
Key areas of responsibility include:
1) Evaluate credit applications – analyzing data from financial statements, credit reference agencies, application forms and other third party sources to arrive at fast, fair, and appropriate credit decisions
2) Communicate with customers – requires strong Customer Obsession as an Amazon representative in credit-related communication with Amazon Business customers
3) Improve processes – work with internal teams to understand the systems and variables that affect credit management decisions, and drive improvements in the logic, tools and processes, with emphasis on automating tasks that are currently performed manually
4) Monitor credit performance – monitoring of Accounts Receivables with emphasis on financial transactions such as invoices, credits, debit-notes and cash application

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics
· 7 to 8 years of finance, accounting, or accounts receivable experience
· Very strong ability to interpret key financial statements/information and an understanding of the key risk drivers specific to SMEs
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· MBA degree or MS in Finance or Accounting
· Progress towards the CFA designation
· Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns
· Experience with small business and/or commercial credit adjudication
· Experience in equity research or investment banking a plus
