Department Overview

This position sits within the Decision Support team under WIM Finance and is part of a business finance team supporting Wealth and Investment Management. The team supports the Banking, Lending, & Trust Center of Excellence – a product management function managing deposits, loans, trust and investment management product platforms for affluent and high net worth individuals, and the Advice & Planning Center of Excellence – a product management function delivering advice and planning capabilities to WIM clients. This business finance team manages financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and performance measurement. The team performs analysis of the financial performance of the business for the sake of providing key financial insights for managing the business to better returns for stakeholders.
About the Role

This Individual contributor role is responsible for the production of key business performance metrics and support month end close activities. Post the book closures, the role needs to support reporting, dashboards and ad-hoc reports. Reports include preparing daily, weekly and monthly reporting and other ad-hoc reports to support the line of business and provide meaningful analysis and analytics support. This role also extensively includes a wide range of data management activities such as data extractions, consolidations, aggregations, validations and modelling support. The role strives for excellence in providing timely, accurate and meaningful insights to senior stakeholders and driving efficiency and process innovations. The role also requires to support ad-hoc data requests and query management
Responsibilities

  • Ensure Monthly/Quarterly books are closed in timely and accurate manner
  • Work on monitoring cost viz. forecast vs actual and provide variance analysis to stakeholders
  • Conducting in-depth research of financial, operating and analyzing, interpreting and reporting findings working with business partners
  • Collect financial data, performing high-level analysis, testing for accuracy, identifying and resolving complex problems
  • Requires extensive data reconciliation & consolidation as well as analysis, additionally coupling the use of scenario and sensitivity analysis to forecast possible outcomes.
  • Design new report / Modify existing financial report using Essbase excel add in tool.
  • Candidate should have good exposure to SQL and should be able to write queries, extract data and be able to respond to ad-hoc data requests & queries.
  • Evaluate all financial results and related reporting, check for reasonability in results between current month and Prior months.
  • Generate multiple reports like Close, Balance sheet, P &L reports and Variance analysis report from applicable tools
  • Deploy proper knowledge management process by regularly updating the process documents and create back up for all the process.
  • Support data analysis by bringing in meaningful insights and underlying information for the finance and business teams to provide strategic and advisory support..
  • Improvise the process by suggesting innovative ideas and take initiative to automate the process.

Market Skills and Certifications
Essential Qualifications

  • Graduates, Post graduate or MBA in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 7 to 9 years experience in finance or accounting roles, including monthly close, management reporting, Monthly business review decks, data consolidation and aggregation.
  • Collaborated with onshore counter parties on daily basis for producing various metrics for business review.
  • Hands on exposure to tools like Essbase, Dodeca
  • Hands on exposure on SQL, query management and ad-hoc data /request management.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required which includes complex functions like Lookups, Indirect, IF’s and logical functions.
  • Good data analysis and experience in data analytics tools.
  • Strong communication skills required for a regular connect with senior leaders.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferable to have prior experience in F&A role.
  • Preferable to have VBA – Macro knowledge.
  • Working knowledge in tableau is preferred.
  • Good exposure to automation, robotics and process automations
